The Form 2 Desktop 3D printer is able to deliver large prints with incredible resolution. The method used by the majority of 3D printers, fused deposition modeling (FDM), first melts the plastic, then uses a nozzle extruder to print each layer with the molten plastic. The stereolithography (SLA) technology used by the Form 2 directs a 250mW precision laser across a tray of liquid resin causing a thin layer to solidify. This chemical reaction allows for the creation of water-tight prints and is why SLA is the gold standard for accuracy and resolution in 3D printing.
